Shannon Lane
Shannon Lane is originally from Columbus, Ohio and she is so thrilled to be joining the team at Pure Performing Arts Studio! Her dance career began at age 4 when she began Irish Step Dancing. She danced competitively as a soloist and team dancer, winning and placing on the regional and national level. At the same time she and two other generations of her family were a part of the selective youth and men’s choir Spirito! which performed around the country. She has been training as a vocalist with private instruction since she was 6 years old.
At age 13 she discovered her love for musical theater and began training in dance styles such as ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop. She studied theater at her performing arts school in Sarasota, Florida learning more about the craft and appearing in shows such as Pippin, Peter and the Starcatcher, A Chorus Line, Chicago, and Heathers working with professionals such as Broadway actor Isaac Powell, drag queen Nina West, and vocalist Natalie Weiss. She has performed professionally at Short North Stage in Columbus, Ohio in shows such as Mama Mia! and Spring Awakening.
She earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Wright State University in Acting, as well as a minor in Dance. She has studied a wide variety of acting and movement techniques that have helped shape her into the well rounded singer, actor, and dancer she is today. She is so excited to pass on the invaluable knowledge she has learned throughout her career thus far to the young and inspired artist that make up the Pure Studios family. She is so happy to meet and work with you!
